Medicare Appeals for Home Health Services
Public Sector Partners, in conjunction with Commonwealth Medicine, a division of the University of Massachusetts Medical School, works on behalf of state Medicaid agencies to conduct Medicare Home Health Appeals initiatives. Since Federal law requires that Medicaid be the payer of last resort for services provided to dual eligible recipients, the Appeals project identifies Medicaid paid home health claims that have the potential for Medicare coverage and files the appeal. Once Medicare coverage is established, the project includes recovering the Medicaid overpayments.
Our Medicare appeals program for home health services includes:
- Identification of potential claims
- Preparation and submission of claim appeals
- Clinical and legal review of appeals
- Management of all levels of appeals from redetermination through arbitration
